I am so grateful for little memory. I’ve been using it for eight years and it’s my favorite app for iPhone. It allows me to jot down a thought, anecdote, or snapshot of the day in a simple and easy format. I get to receive this memory years down the road, as a reminder of good times had, struggles overcome, and triumphs big and small. Each “little memory” is a gift for the present. With 2,000+ little memories saved and counting, I can’t think of any other app that fills me with as much gratitude. Yowza3, App Store Review

Micro-journal at its best. Quick. Easy. Distraction free. Just jot down your thoughts on the day. Wind down. As you write more and more it’s able to show you what you talk about the most, and how you feel about that person, place, or thing. Trust me, I love this app. sl1200mkII, App Store Review

I’ve tried for years and years to keep a journal. I tried various apps and tried using txt files. This app is so simple I don’t “feel bad” writing a sentence or two and being done. Dropkick, App Store Review

This is the first thing I check every morning! Simple but a wonderfully effective drop of joy every day. And being able to compare how our life was a while ago and today is really interesting. I couldn’t recommend it enough! Nikcin15, App Store Review

I look forward to checking every morning what I got up to last week, month, year. Simple to use and a lovely concept — I only wish I’d discovered it earlier. Pinkcat74, App Store Review

Mindful, simplistic and stirring. Highly recommended for those wishing to document rarities and events without much fuss. HayleyLannister, App Store Review

Leanna Lofte I love to blog and journal, but it’s often times a bit of a chore to actually do because I feel obligated to put in at least a little bit of effort. With little memory, all I need to do is enter a sentence or two about something I want to remember about my day (good or bad) and I’m done! Leanna Lofte, iMore

Sad Boyz It’s a little micro-journaling app. Every day at 9pm it’s like “hey, tell me about your day”, and then you’ll write a tweet’s length of stuff about your day, and it’s a little therapeutic in that moment. But then it will remind you in 90 days, 3 months from then or a year from then, and it really helps me put into perspective the cycles of my mental state, because I can be “wow, 3 months ago I was going through it”, or I was really deep in my own thoughts and feelings and wasn’t able to take a step back and look at things broadly and have perspective. It really helps contextualize a lot of those things. Jarvis Johnson, Sad Boyz podcast

James Tamplin Very clean and intuitive design. I’ve been using this for 8 months and it never ceases to make me smile everytime an old memory pops up. I use 4 web services everyday: Email, Facebook, Twitter & Little Memory. James Tamplin, CEO, Firebase

Dan Walsh Really great app. Good idea. Good implementation. Made me more in tune to the passage of time and gives me a quick reason to reflect on my day, everyday. Dan Walsh, Tangents & Distractions

Thanks for taking the initiative to do things like this. They say ‘If not you then who?’, and you have made it you. Sophia Pearson

Jacqueline Chang It reminds me of things that make me happy, and also of things that don’t make me so happy(don’t repeat mistakes). It also allows you to upload pictures into it, so I can finally do something with all these cat pictures I take! Ahem. The app is super user friendly. Double points for the clean and simple design. This app has been a great way to keep up my daily journaling. I’ve been writing for almost 6 months, so everyday I get reminded of “old” mindsets 6, 3, 1 month(s) back, etc. I feel like now I have a place to honor the special moments while also reminding myself that everyday is possible. Kashon R.

Tim Walsh Its clean and simple interface are a breath of fresh air compared to most apps and the gentle reminders (of which you can customize by time of day so it works with your schedule) to say something about your day are very useful and unobtrusive. Without even realizing it little memory has given me a better sense of awareness of the passage of time and the things I have accomplished. Tim Walsh, Product Developer

Really growing on me over time! Love to write a sentence or two about my day, whether I’m home in bed, on the bus, at work, whenever the mood strikes :) teatoeceratops, App Store Review

Karl Dotter Little words are powerful. Hands down, the most meaningful app on my iPhone. Karl Dotter, UX Designer, Goodreads

Daily chronicling makes me more aware of how positive my day was and who, or what, is still on my mind at the end of the day. Highly recommended! ★★★★★ Anthoknees

Jason Hreha Amazing. Twitter meets a daily journal. Fantastic. Jason Hreha, UX Design, Founder, Dopamine

If you’re like me, every January 1st, I make the resolution to keep a daily record of my life, good days and bad, so I (and my children) can look back over my life and laugh and cry as we look back over the years. The longest THAT resolution ever lasted was about a week!! Who has time to sit and hand write all that information you want to remember? This app is priceless for doing just that in a fraction of the time and with photos, too, to bring those days-gone-by back as vividly as possible!! By far, my top 3 favorite apps on my iPhone and iPad!! iTunes App Store Review

Life’s changing all the time, and you don’t need to take much time to record the slight change. You can see clearly what you’ve gone through in the past days and you feel you are growing up gradually — you are becoming stronger, and more lovable. App Store Review, Australia

From your letters

Every time I read a memory from the past, two things happen. One: I remember a version of myself that doesn’t exist anymore. It gives me the opportunity to honor her feelings, her desires, and her struggles. Two: despite my insecurities of not doing enough and fears of not being enough, I remember what I HAVE done. Even if just for a moment, I remember how profoundly enough I am. J.A., reader letter

You helped me take some of the most precious and special years of my life and remember them forever — and to have something recorded basically every day since I was 17 is such a gift. I look back on memories from years ago and surprise myself with how much I’ve grown. Sometimes they’re silly and sometimes they’re not, and when I look at the ups and downs I remember how cathartic it was to have a place to write everything down. J., reader letter

I’ve been using it for five years from my move from the UK to Australia. The memories it holds are so special to me, and have seen me through the highs and lows of relocating, getting married, buying a house and having a baby! It’s wonderful, so thank you! S.B., reader letter

I started using little memory five years ago. then I was still in high school, and now I’m an adult trying to find my way in life. I often go back and look through my memories to encourage me, and remind me of how much I’ve changed. M., reader letter

This is my first year as a teacher, and looking back over the last 5+ years on Little Memory is amazing. I love seeing how far I have grown in that time. M.D., reader letter

My life changed so much in the last two years, I moved in a new city alone at 18 years old, had a tremendous break up and started a course I love. Your app allows me to remember every day, and see where I come and started from, especially from an emotional point of view. R., reader letter

What better place to release all my pent up energy / anger / sadness than in my private entries! It’s like a dumping ground for my emotions, both positive and negative. It’s helped me get through this that much better. J.H., reader letter

One of my favorite ways to peruse the past is through an app called the little memory. The app prompts you to “tell your future self” about a little joke or time spent with friends in less than 300 characters, and when you finish, a notification slides down: “one more memory, one more future anniversary.” What was mundane at the time is now a milestone, a special glimpse into the past. I always feel a little thrill to see what I wrote in the past contained in a mini, daily time capsule. Angelica, Uncommon in Common

The Little Memory app is private, personal and meaningful; giving you daily reminders to pop in a memory or feeling or photo from the day that was. The best thing about it is that it encourages you to keep the entries short so that journaling feels less like a chore, and more like a practice.
